Mark Luscombe-Whyte is a photographer whose skills are diverse and far reaching. Based between London and France, he has always been a traveller, never happier than when exploring some far-flung destination.
A career as a portrait photographer soon developed into an interest and a talent more attune to capturing the way people live, where they travel to, and how they adapt to an ever-changing global landscape.
Over the past 30 years his lens has focused on some of the world’s leading interior designers, residential homes, hotels and resorts. As a result, his work has been published regularly in international magazines and he has a string of books to his name. Since 2020, Mark’s global connections have opened up new avenues with the world’s most influential magazines.
At the same time, Mark’s travels have enabled him to cover projects closer to his heart, such as the Maha Khumbh Mela in India, a 31-day odyssey along the Way of St James, and working with Wet Plate Collodion, the third oldest photographic process dating from 1851.
A loner at heart, Mark is happiest when he finds himself alone with his camera in an historic building in the company of the ghosts of previous inhabitants.
