Sasha Gusov was first introduced to photography at the age of 13 and moved to England from his native Russia in 1989, establishing his credentials as ‘an image-maker with something to say’ in 1993, when a self-commissioned project ‘Images of the Bolshoi Ballet’ was published by the British Journal of Photography. Sasha is a photographer who is intrigued by the human comedy of manners and his archive is a richly diverse and interesting resource of portraits of leading artists from theatre, music and dance. Widely published, his work includes a collection of photographic books, which include Photography (2014), Bolshoi Ballet (2017 and Michelangelo (2018).
